• 感想

  • UIST “Community"と言っている意味が分かった

    • 思ったより小さい世界だな、という印象
    • というか日本人多すぎ

    @blu3mo: Human-Computer Interactionの研究って何なのだろう 例えば、普通に便利なだけ(?)のソフトウェアをHCIの研究として世に出すのはなぜなのだろう? （UISTのProceedingsを眺めていて気になった） 現状のの「HCI研究」の認識 社会実装するより前の段階で、冒険的なものを作ったり知見を集めたりする （短期的には稼げないが長期的には意義はあるから、研究費をもらって研究としてやる、という認識） それ単体で閉じていなくて、過去と繋がる文脈 &...

    、いろいろ理解は深まった

  • Socialization

    • やっぱ自分が今何やってるかを言えない（というか学業以外にない）ので人と繋がるのがむずい
      • これに興味ありますだけじゃきつい
      • とかならグローブの話が出来るのでいいな〜と思っていた
    • 事前にこの人と話したいというのを見つけてコンタクトとっておくのは、新しいコミュニティに入る上では有効だな

  • やっぱユースケースが広がるもの、普遍的だったり一般的な提案をしている物が好きだな

    • ハンドトラッキングの研究だとしても、それが手の周りの環境全体の認識も出来るよと言われた方がおもろい
    • VRだと、UI作成便利ツールキットより、新しいgeneralなinteractionを提示しているものの方が好き
      • もちろん前者にも価値はあるし、必要だろうけど

      • Pedro、UChicago
      • UIST出すぎ

• 高い金払って参加するからには色々なものを得て帰りたい

• 得れそうなもの/知れそうなこと

  • InternationalなHCI界隈(?)の雰囲気とのfit
    • めっちゃfitしてると思うかも知れんし、ここでは生きていけんと思うかも
    • このあたりは人と積極的に話して確かめたい
  • おもろい研究者・研究室を見つけたい
    • Discordとかでアタックかけられると良さそう

• どう人と繋がるか

  • 学部1年で、一応author枠でUISTきてる人はあんまり居ないんじゃないかな..?とは思う
  • とはいえもう中高生とかではないので、takeのみを求めるスタンスだと相手にされなさそうな気がしている

UIST2022 Student Innovation Contest

• Back for its fifth year, UIST Visions is a venue for forward thinking ideas to inspire the community. The goal is not to report research but to propose new research directions. We want to project the UIST community as thought leaders in HCI technology. A maximum of 2 speakers will be invited and the review will be based on how interesting and provocative the ideas are. The author should aim to start a meaningful and well-informed discussion about future directions for computer-human interfaces. Appropriate issues might be: future trends, foundational technologies that we need to make progress on, significant, compelling problems that the community might address, something that is missing, or an alternative perspective on what we do.
